Utilizing a standard 52-card deck, Call Break is typically played by four players and is particularly popular in India and Nepal. In this game, a hand is referred to as a "trick," while a player's "call" signifies their bid. The primary objective is to outmaneuver opponents by preventing them from fulfilling their respective calls. Points are tabulated at the end of each round, which consists of five hands, culminating with the player who accumulates the highest points declared the winner.

Gameplay begins with the player next to the dealer making the first move after a participant completes their call. Players can play any card, establishing the leading suit for that hand. Subsequent players must follow suit by playing a higher-ranked card if possible; if they lack the leading suit, they must play a trump card (a spade of any rank) or any other card if a spade is unavailable. The highest-ranked card of the leading suit captures the trick, unless broken by a spade, in which case the highest-ranked spade captures it instead. The victor of each hand continues to lead until all 13 hands are completed, at which point the next deal initiates.
